The following General Terms and Conditions of Business regulate the contractual relationship between the participants of the three-day summit staged by GEM.
Any General Terms and Conditions of Business that are in contradiction of this document do not apply.
The Global Sports Industry Summit takes place from September 28th - October 1st, 2010, from 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM in Paris, France. Global Sports Industry Summit reserve the right at any time to change the event venue, dates, opening date or the duration of the event, and to extend or shorten the period, without liability to the participants. If the event is cancelled for any reason, this participation contract will be void and the registration fees paid by the participants will be refunded to them in full. No other indemnification will be due by Global Sports Industry Summit to the participants.
You can register via Internet. A legally binding contract is concluded through the receipt of your registration form. After receipt of the registration, the Organizers will publish the names of the participants on the Internet in order to achieve optimal networking. Participants who do not wish to use this service must communicate this fact to the Organizers. Unless you indicate otherwise, after receipt of your registration we will also send you the Global Sports Industry Summit e-Newsletter free of charge.
The participation fee is for one person only and includes the statutory value added tax. The fee covers attendance at the summit, the summit documents, access to summit events. The Organizers do not take responsibility for changes to the program, nonappearance of a speaker, or printing errors in the documents. If it is impossible to stage the event on account of acts of nature beyond the Organizers’ control or for important reasons (e.g. illness of the speakers or an insufficient number of participants), the participants will be promptly informed and the participation fee will be refunded. In such a case the participants have no claim to reimbursement for their travel or accommodation costs or for inability to work.
The badge is the only official evidence of registration!!! Thus, participants not wearing their badge will not have access to the Global Sports Industry Summit programs or any official Global Sports Industry Summit functions. The loss of your badge will nullify your registration. A new badge will be issued upon payment of EUR 200.
Full registration fee must be paid on signature of the contract in order to have your participation contract and hotel and flight reservation processed. If payment in full is not received, the Organizer has the right to cancel the registration and all money previously paid by the participant will be reimbursed, less a 50% administration fee.
If any attendee cancels attendance, Global Sports Industry Summit will refund 50% of the registration fee provided the Global Sports Industry Summit office is duly notified of the cancellation in writing on or before June 1, 2010. There will be no refunds on registrations or cancellations received after June 1, 2010
The summit documents are protected by copyright. Copying, distribution or use of the summit documents for other purposes will be permitted only with the specific written authorization of the Organizers.
The presentations at the summit events are carefully prepared and conducted by well-qualified authors and speakers. The Organizers do not accept any responsibility for the timeliness, correctness or completeness of the documents for the summit events or for the staging of the events.
Employees of the company whose name and address appear on page 1 of this contract who are based in other countries, and employees of subsidiary companies, joint-venture companies, agents, consultants, representatives, producers, program or product suppliers, sponsors, etc., wherever based, must register separately and pay the appropriate registration fee. There are no day passes or reduced registration fees for participants who stay for less than the entire duration of the Summit.
The participants are solely liable for any damage they cause to the Global Sports Industry Summit, Le Palais des Congres de Paris and equipment.
The participant is formally prohibited from taking part in activities outside the designated Global Sports Industry Summit area of the Summit Center similar to those carried on within the perimeters of the event throughout the duration of the said event. The participant is expressly prohibited from renting a meeting or conference room or a suite in any venue and/or hotel in Paris, France during the event. Consequently, he/she undertakes not to solicit directly or indirectly any other participant outside the confines of the designated Global Sports Industry Summit area of the Summit Center for the purpose of demonstrating any products or services being demonstrated at the event itself. Furthermore, the participant agrees not to exhibit or display any identifying signage or other promotional items in the Delegates Lounge or anywhere else within the Summit Center, without the express prior written consent of the Organizer. Any contravention of the general articles of this Special Regulation by the participant will be considered to be a contravention of the essential conditions governing the validity of this participation contract, in the full legal sense and with no requirement for any warning to be given to this effect, will lead to the confiscation of the participant’s accreditation badge and the immediate exclusion of the participant concerned from the exhibition halls. The participation fees and any other sums paid will not be reimbursed, and will become the property of the Organizer. The Organizer also reserves the right to claim compensatory damages against any participant thus contravening the rule. Participant accept to solely use service by summit official suppliers.
The Courts of Paris, France have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation resulting from enforcement of these rules!
GEM and Global Sports Industry Summit will handle confidentially the data provided by the participants and will use this data only in compliance with the data protection regulations. Personal data are all data that are stored in connection with your name.
